Network Engineer
Position Overview Statement
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Service Provider networking environments and will be responsible for network design, implementation, upgrades, and customer-facing activities. This role requires solid technical expertise in large-scale SP networks and the ability to work on complex infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Strong understanding of Service Provider technologies, including IGP, BGP, MPLS, Segment Routing (SR), Traffic Engineering, and related protocols.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco ASR 9000 and Cisco 8000 platforms.
- Experience in network automation and programmability, including Python, Java, REST APIs, Ansible, Cisco NSO, and DevOps tools.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including Low-Level Design (LLD), High Level Design (HLD) , Network Implementation Plan (NIP), Network Ready for Usage (NRFU) and Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP).
- Perform and/or supervise network outages, migrations, and change requests on customer networks
- Execute hardware and software upgrades for Cisco NCS, Cisco ASR 9000 and Cisco 8000 platforms
- Knowledge of NFV and SDN concepts is a plus.
- Basic understanding of Linux operating systems.
- Participate in team oncall rotation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Service Provider / mass networking environments.
- CCNP certified or demonstrable relevant knowledge on key subjects is accepted
- CCIE certification is a plus
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in customer-facing environments and during planned maintenance windows.
