Datanet Systems participates as Gold Sponsor at Fortinet Security Day 2025

On June 11, Datanet Systems took part as a Gold Sponsor in Fortinet Security Day 2025, held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Bucharest. The event gathered over 440 participants, including international experts from the Fortinet ecosystem, as well as representatives from Romania’s private and academic sectors. Centered around the theme “Fortify your cybersecurity”, the conference addressed current developments and solutions in SecOps, network security, unified SASE, OT security, and cloud security.

Datanet Systems, as Gold Sponsor, was present with a dedicated booth, where attendees could take part in live demonstrations and presentations focused on FortiSIEM and FortiSOAR technologies. Additionally, George Laurențiu, Presales Specialist at Datanet Systems, delivered a presentation titled “FortiAI Protect – Autonomous Threat Detection for the Modern Enterprise,” which outlined the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in supporting automated threat detection in enterprise environments.

Next-Generation Enterprise Security with FortiAI Protect

In his presentation at Fortinet Security Day 2025, George Laurențiu, Presales Specialist at Datanet Systems, addressed the significant and evolving impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI (GenAI) on cybersecurity. While AI plays a critical role in accelerating digital transformation, it also introduces new challenges. Threat actors are increasingly leveraging AI to develop more sophisticated attacks, exploit vulnerabilities in large language models (LLMs), and overwhelm SOC/NOC teams with high volumes of alerts and false positives.

Referencing the Gartner Security Buying Behavior Survey 2024, Laurențiu noted that 30% of organizations are directing cybersecurity investments toward managing the growing risks associated with GenAI. The lack of visibility and control around GenAI usage has become a top concern for enterprise security leaders.

At the same time, AI is also emerging as a powerful enabler of cybersecurity. Fortinet has integrated AI into its solutions for over 15 years and is now deploying its sixth generation of AI and machine learning technologies. Backed by more than 500 AI-focused patents, Fortinet continues to innovate with solutions such as FortiAI, powered by Agentic AI. FortiAI delivers a holistic approach to cybersecurity through three core components:

  • FortiAI-Protect – Defends against zero-day threats, AI-generated attacks, and security risks introduced by GenAI usage.
  • FortiAI-Assist – Automates security operations across SOC and NOC environments to support faster, AI-driven decision-making.
  • FortiAI-SecureAI – Secures LLMs and AI models through a “secure by design” approach that enables safe deployment and governance.

FortiAI is natively integrated into Fortinet’s Security Fabric, combining deep visibility, autonomous response capabilities, and AI models that have been validated over years of deployment. Its operation is supported by a global sensor network of more than 40 million data points. FortiGuard Labs analyzes trillions of daily security events collected from over 6 million firewalls, 20 million email messages, 10 million endpoints, and 3 million web gateways, enabling rapid threat identification and proactive defense.

In the second part of the session, Laurențiu shared practical use cases for FortiAI-Protect, highlighting its core capabilities:

  • Real-time, AI-driven threat detection and mitigation, providing proactive protection across the enterprise attack surface.
  • Context-aware threat prioritization, enabling faster response to high-impact incidents.
  • Advanced detection using deep learning and behavioral analytics to identify sophisticated and evasive threats across multiple vectors.
  • Scalable, automated response capabilities, supporting large-scale threat containment and resolution.
  • Continuous analysis for enhanced detection of zero-day threats and improved overall cyber resilience.
  • Full visibility into AI application usage, including shadow AI and GenAI tools.
  • Granular, automated policy enforcement tailored to individual AI applications, supported by a curated library of over 6,000 AI application categories.
  • Alignment with global data privacy and compliance standards.
  • A continuously learning AI engine that adapts in real time, delivering up-to-date threat insights and recommendations.
  • High detection accuracy with a false positive rate as low as 0.002%, including identification of previously unknown malware.

SIEM and SOAR: The Cornerstones of the Modern SOC. Key Advantages of FortiSIEM and FortiSOAR

During Fortinet Security Day 2025, the Datanet Systems technical team hosted live demonstrations and in-depth sessions at the exhibition area, showcasing Fortinet’s advanced technologies designed to support today’s Security Operations Centers (SOCs). The focus was on two foundational platforms—FortiSIEM and FortiSOAR—which combine artificial intelligence and automation to deliver end-to-end visibility, real-time detection, and coordinated response across complex IT and OT environments.

  1. FortiSIEM: Centralized Visibility and Proactive Threat Management
FortiSIEM is a highly scalable solution, available as an integrated appliance, virtual machine, or SaaS offering hosted on AWS. It provides enterprise-wide security visibility, enabling organizations to collect, correlate, and analyze security events in real time. The platform supports incident detection, automated triage, and rapid response, while also offering critical functionality for compliance, asset monitoring, and proactive risk management. Key capabilities include User and Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA), Configuration Management Database (CMDB); integrated IT/OT asset discovery and monitoring, AI-powered analyst assistance (GenAI); real-time compliance tracking and enforcement; user identity mapping, risk scoring, and incident response workflows; native integration with FortiSOAR; multitenant architecture for service providers and distributed environments.
  1. FortiSOAR: Orchestrated Response and Security Automation
Designed to unify and streamline SOC operations, FortiSOAR is available on-premises, in the cloud, or as a SaaS solution via FortiCloud. The platform enables centralized management and orchestration of security operations, facilitating faster, more efficient responses through deep automation, standardized workflows, and enhanced collaboration across teams. FortiSOAR supports centralized case management and investigation workflows; threat intelligence integration and enrichment; playbook-driven response automation, with support for over 800 prebuilt playbooks; compatibility with more than 600 third-party integrations; machine learning–driven recommendations to guide analyst decisions; low-code/no-code playbook creation for agile automation development; scalable, multitenant architecture built for enterprise and MSSP use cases; SLA-aware coordination across SOC and NOC environments.

When deployed together, FortiSIEM and FortiSOAR can enhance security team productivity by over 90%, according to Fortinet’s ESG Economic Validation Report. This performance gain is further amplified by the integration of a GenAI-powered assistant, which elevates the analyst experience and accelerates threat response through intuitive, AI-driven interaction.

The GenAI assistant supports a wide range of contextual prompts, enabling teams to streamline operations and make informed decisions faster. Common use cases include:

  • Analyze this incident and recommend next steps.
  • Provide details about this malware and known threat actors.
  • Suggest relevant response playbooks for this alert.
  • Generate a report of critical incidents from the past 30 days.
  • Create a playbook to identify IOCs related to this attack campaign.
