Consistent growth for Datanet Systems in 2023. Turnover exceeded 41.7 million euro

The consolidated results for 2023 look good, with Datanet Systems’ turnover exceeding 41.7 million euros, representing a 12% increase compared to the previous year. Recently, we sent a briefing to the media summarizing last year’s activities, which was well received, with coverage in the most prominent publications: Ziarul Financiar, Forbes, Economica, Bursa, Revista Biz, ClubITc, etc.

Datanet Systems, one of Romania’s leading integrators of complex IT systems, increased its turnover by 12% in 2023 to €41.7 million. The growth was above the sales target and is in line with the positive development of the Soitron Group, which the company is a part of, in all markets in the region. At the technology level, 60% of revenues were generated by dedicated data network solutions, and the sectors with the highest share of turnover were telecommunications, financial services, and the public sector.

The year 2023 marked a higher number of complex projects in Datanet Systems’ activity: the largest SD-WAN project in Romania for Mega Image, communication infrastructures based on Cisco technologies for Vodafone and Orange, as well as winning important public tenders in projects carried out with MAPN (Cisco Systems network infrastructure) and STS (communication equipment for the future government cloud platform).

The area of cyber security has also seen significant growth, in the context of increasing cyber threats, but also due to the approaching deadline for the adoption of the NIS 2 Directive. In 2023, Datanet carried out, with support from the Soitron Group, the first project to assess the security position and strategy of a company in Romania. The partnership relationship with Cisco Systems was strengthened by obtaining the first national Cisco Partner Lifecycle Services – Support certification, as well as the certification of an impressive number of specialists. Moreover, staff training is a priority for Datanet Systems, whose team of 76 employees holds more than 260 technical professional certifications, 183 of which are for Cisco Systems. In 2023, the company also set up a Business Development department to manage opportunities to address new market sectors or technological areas to support long-term evolution.

“2023 was a year of hard work, with many requests from customers running critical infrastructures and very stringent requirements, both technical and business. One of our major challenges has also been aligning with next-generation technologies, which include elements of machine learning, artificial intelligence, virtual assistants, and voice recognition. These technologies are increasingly being embraced in the local market and make us pay critical attention to training people to keep up with everything that is emerging in the IT industry. The focus on technological innovation and continuous training of the team allowed us to achieve all the objectives set at the start of the year and to strengthen our position in the systems integrator market,” according to Dragoș Stroescu, Managing Director of Datanet Systems.

Business priorities for 2024 include expanding the portfolio of cybersecurity solutions and services through deeper collaboration with Soitron and taking over existing best practices across the group. At the same time, Datanet Systems aims to strengthen partnerships with vendors such as Juniper, F5, Palo Alto, and Fortinet, as well as commercially exploit the acquisition and integration of Splunk by Cisco Systems. Another long-term priority is to increase the share of professional services sales in turnover.
